The Circle

Explore the human figure as depicted in traditional South Asian miniature painting. This workshop will introduce participants to tools, mediums and surfaces used in the 16th century royal courts. Under the guidance of practicing artist Sumaira Tazeen, participants will use a fine tip squirrel hair brush to apply washes of watercolour and opaque white pigment on to a specialized archival board called Vasli as they create their own figure painting (Naeem Rang).

Some experience drawing would be beneficial but is not required. All materials are provided.
